This book is about the civilization, culture and religion of Iran. It describes the history of carrying symbolic coffins on the shoulders in Iran before and after the advent of Islam, the religious symbols on these coffins, and different kinds of symbolic coffins. The coffins symbolize the coffins carried on the shoulders during the mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (AS), especially during Ashura, the day Imam Hussein (AS) was martyred.
